My recent paintings relate to seasons and moments of everyday experiences through the colour, line, marks and rhythm of the paint. The source of my interest is sky, air, clouds and land. I observe it every day on my walks and this is reflected in my work. I work in a spontaneous way, and usually several paintings would be worked on during the process. I explore the possibilities of painting, which involves investigation of the material quality of paint and various surfaces. My approach, based on chance, risk, trial and error, is to create and discover something new and unexpected on the surface.
The paintings and works on paper that Iíve done since 2011 represent a wide variety of works, studies and the development of me as a painter, exploring materials, learning about paint and colour, and it application on the surfaces, using found things around the studio, trying out the sizes of the various paper, canvases, boards, different types of wood, cardboard, aluminium, plastic.
