My recent paintings relate to seasons and moments of everyday experiences through the colour, line, marks and rhythm of the paint. The source of my interest is sky, air, clouds and land. I observe it every day on my walks and this is reflected in my work. I work in a spontaneous way, and usually several paintings would be worked on during the process. I explore the possibilities of painting, which involves investigation of the material quality of paint and various surfaces. My approach, based on chance, risk, trial and error, is to create and discover something new and unexpected on the surface. I work on trying out new forms, colour combinations and mark-making.
